 こんにちは

Today, I watched the newest episode on Blue Lock... and sad to say... I was pretty disappointed with what I saw. The animation was nowhere near the level of other anime that I've watched recently. It looked like I was watching a PowerPoint presentation rather than an animated video.

I was initially very confused as to why the animation quality was so terrible, so I decided to dig deeper into why this happened. I found out that the animators have less and less time each week to make the scenes for the show because their producers have been rushing them and other parts of the production process. There are even allegations that parts of the production process have heavily edited the scenes the animators drew into ones that look less fluid. The producers have placed profits over the well-being of their workers, which makes the production quality bad even though the people working and drawing for the show clearly have a passion for their work. This has exposed me to the darker side of animation and the side that often does not get addressed by the public that often.

I think this experience has given me the desire to research the value chain and work that goes into the things/products I look forward to seeing, and not take for granted the good things I have in life.

Here's what Blue Lock scenes for this season could've looked like

Here's what they look like in the finished project

Here's a comparison between the season 1 and season 2 anime

Anyways... i'm all tuckered out after today.
