Assignment #7: Video Watching Blog Post #3

We're back with another One Piece episode watch, and since I missed last week's release, i'm deciding to write about it. This means that the episode will be episode 1100 ( One Piece is super long I know hahaha). What I would like to say about this episode is that it's probably one of the best episodes I've ever seen from One Piece. The soundtrack, the drama, the action, the jokes, and the lore reveal, were just awesome in general. The drums of liberation truly inspired me... I think I loved everything about this episode. I want to pay particular attention and praise to the animation and the art style, which was absolutely awesome. I love how the new One Piece animated style has brought in a more cartoonish look to modern animation in Anime and has also begun to incorporate the rubber hose style that innately works so well with movement into its art direction, and this mesh of animation looks beautiful and smooth for an action show like One Piece. I think I love in general how seriously the Japanese take animation and art, and how willing some are to evolve their art to look cool and fit the themes that they were originally trying to convey, and that ultimately makes the art feel more meaningful (to me at least.)
